Josh Bradley (he/him/his) is a director and creative producer who seeks to harness the power of theatre to encourage empathy, generate change, and deepen our sense of shared humanity through the act of live performance. His work is rebellious, communal, and responsive.

Working from the conviction that his duty as a theatre artist is to reflect the times, Josh uses the temporality of storytelling to investigate and respond to the world around us. Energized by the question “Why this play, and why right now?,” he explores resonant questions, human contradictions, and enduring ideals that connect us as a global community. He also interrogates the social and political power structures that shape our lives.

Josh is passionate about both classical and contemporary plays. His artistic interests include 20th-century playwrights, verbatim drama, new work, and Shakespeare (particularly the parallels between Shakespeare’s plays and contemporary circumstances). He has a special interest in proletarian drama and stories about the working class, and enjoys discovering new plays that explore the modern American labor movement.

He is currently the Creative Producer of JB Theatricals, an independent producing company he founded. The company’s inaugural production, UNSEX’d, made its U.S. premiere as part of FRIGID New York’s 2025 Little Shakespeare Festival and was well received by audiences and critics alike. Previously, Josh founded Relevant Theatrics while still an undergraduate student in Orlando, where he served as Artistic Director and directed Waiting for Godot, Corpus Christi, and Tick, Tick… Boom! under the company banner. A passionate advocate for creative entrepreneurship, Josh believes the future of theatre lies with artists, not institutions.

A multi-hyphenate artist, Josh has written and directed short films and music-driven movement pieces, and authored several theatrical works, including the devised piece What is Written and adaptations of Alice in Wonderland, Hamlet, and Macbeth. He has also developed and taught numerous classes and workshops as a teaching artist, creating curricula in acting, Shakespeare performance, scene study, improv, and Commedia dell’arte. He is also a once and future AEA stage manager, with credits ranging from Chicago to regional houses, and from Disney World to the Guggenheim Museum.

Josh holds an MS in Leadership for Creative Enterprises from Northwestern University and a BA in Theatre Studies from the University of Central Florida. He is an alumnus of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater’s Emerging Artist Residency, where he trained in residence as an assistant director and understudy director. He's a member of Actors' Equity Association and an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
